New York Fashion Week is expected to return with live shows in September, the Council of Fashion Designers of America announced.

After 2 fashion seasons Fall-Winter 2020 and Spring-Summer 2021 mainly taking place on online screens, recently the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has announced its plan to hold New York Fashion Week online. September 8-12, 2021, based on local regulations and social restrictions.

The CFDA still encourages online performances to avoid risks associated with Covid-19.

However, encouraged by the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination campaign in New York, CFDA chief executive Steven Kolb said "we look forward to a vibrant fashion season that celebrates the the best of American fashion in both physical and digital formats."

This time, after New York Fashion Week will be the continuation of the Met Gala - an event that brings together the world's top stars alongside the Met's Costume Institute fashion exhibitions - on September 13. The lavish event is usually held on the first Monday in May, but this year it will take place on a smaller scale in September.
